DAPPER OCCASIONS
ABOUT
Dapper Occasions is a creative collaboration between two best friends to provide event planning, design, and coordination services for all special events. Our approach involves a partnership between us, you, and chosen vendors in a collaborative process. We know that everyone is different so we like to adopt a working style that best fits you. We think the process should be fun, so come have some with us and let's get planning.
TEAM
EMILY DOAN
After years of planning milestone events for family and friends, Emily decided to pursue her dream of becoming an event planner. Shortly after being certified as an event planner and coordinator, she opened Dapper Occasions as an outlet to help clients with every facet of the planning process. She asked one of her best friends, Jennifer Skidmore, to be a part of the adventure and was ecstatic when she joined and made it a Dapper duo. Emily is passionate about every project she is involved with, whether it be a large scale production or an intimate social gathering, and prides herself in her creative eye and attention to detail.
"Dapper Occasions (or Dapper O) is where all my creative thoughts and ideas get brought to life! I love the moment when all little details come together at the end. The best part is seeing a client's face light up after seeing their vision come to reality. It's what I strive for."
When not working on Dapper O projects, she can be found eating ice cream and watching her favorite movies, collecting craft supplies and traveling whenever she gets the chance.
JENNIFER SKIDMORE
The first to volunteer to host an event, whether for family, friends, work, or her sorority alum Kappa Kappa Gamma, Jennifer loves to plan parties but she never dreamed of making it a career until her friend and now business partner, Emily Doan, approached her about starting Dapper O.
“I love projects and I love themes. They allow so much room for creativity and detail; especially in weddings. It never gets boring because each couple is so unique, each centerpiece, program, favor, seating chart, etc. tells a one of a kind love story.”
When not working on the latest Dapper O. event, Jennifer works as the VP of Operations for her family’s business, J&J Vending Inc., a vending and office coffee distribution service in the SF Bay. She’s also part of a core team starting a church, The Movement, in Oakland CA. “When Emily first approached me about Dapper O. I was hesitant because of the workload already on my plate. But saying yes was a wonderful decision. It has been so much fun to stop just pinning projects on Pinterest and actually start doing them. A really great way to meet wonderful people and share in their happiest moments.”
